narrative elements of musical theatre meld with the feel and sound of a DIY punk show to explore how a crush can open the door to a whole new life. the project pops up across different music venues every few months. a cast of 6 actors plays all 26 original songs. 

protagonist izzy follows her best friend to college and then is almost immediately abandoned. unsure of everything, she meets zipper lips, a band of badass musicians and activists who are also...lesbians? when she falls for the lead singer, izzy joins zipper lips on their tour where they are opening for her ex-best friend’s boyfriend’s surf rock band. from there, the musical follows her experiences documenting the lives of the fictitious band as they collectively navigate their queerness & political identities through their music. in the process, izzy drafts her first fanzine about the growing pains of self discovery.
